MORE CPU SPEED FOR PC

Post by Admin on Fri Mar 23, 2018 6:46 am

So you cant afford a new graphics card? - thats okay , you can still get more speed out of your machine by using up the rest of cpu's power that is usually turned off by your manufacturer for backup purposes or turned on only during heavy computational tasks.

its quite simple-
open up Microsoft configuration tool by pressing start-run-msconfig.exe
move over to the boot section select advanced options tick "number of processors" & drop down the  arrow and select the highest number you can see.

--apply & okay (select restart later - there is still a last procedure)

--open start browse for performance monitor run performance monitor as administrator.

--data collector set

--user defined

--right click - new - data collector set
-- choose create manually advanced & rename to cpu overclock / any
-- make sure your configuration is set to create manually advanced
--click next

--tick performance counter data collector --then next

--select add

careful area***
on the left corner find the category named "PROCESS" & select it
-- choose total thread count & click add

--on the left corner find another category called "PROCESSOR" & select
-- a numbered list of all your processors should now be visible.
*note(remember the computer starts counting at zero so the first processor number should be zero "0" and we shall assume it as the first one in that list.)

--find the highest number in the processor list & click it. e.g
0
1
2
3
4
5

in my case i should be selecting number five.

--select the highest number & click add

by now you have added 2 sets of data they should appear on the right.
--click okay at bottom -- select finish.

on the user defined folder there should be a new data collector with the type performance counter.

-- restart your PC to activate the previous msconfig settings & re-open performance monitor ,
navigate back to data collector set & choose user defined -- right click the configuration which you created & hit start.

your Microsoft powered machine should now start using the reserve cpu power for gaming & heavy tasks

(for more processing power and priority of heavy gaming & tasks visit task manager right click on application & goto process , right click on the process of the application you want to give processing priority & choose select affinity -- tick all processors  & press okay, right click again & set priority to high, a confirmation box should appear choose "change priority" & you should see some performance improvements)
